One of the most requested features since the change to the kernel build & install procedure replacing `genkernel` with `ramdisk` has been to add support for other non-standard boot topologies involving a `rootfs` on `lvm`, `luks`, or `mdadm` block devices (in any combination of the same).
This issue exists to collect these other issues and organize work toward implementing the features that close them.
