consolekit is no longer maintained, yet some of our mix-ins and even our desktop flavor enable it by default. In my opinion, we should deprecate consolekit entirely and use elogind as the default. Having consolekit enabled is more of an inconvenience, as it causes USE flag conflicts with mix-ins such as XFCE, which enable elogind globally. I personally think getting rid of consolekit will help reduce confusion and using elogind will help with the unification of installation processes for the different desktop environments.
