This bug is to track upgrading and extensively integration testing FFS and in turn Funtoo Next Harvester stage1-3 builds to support the newly released binutils 2.40:

GNU Binutils is part of the larger meta-project of toolchain components in the GNU Linux world. Two other components that binutils works directly with being GCC compiler and GLIBC.

This working to make this new binutils with ffs stage1s function properly will be in tight coordination with other toolchain upgrades such as GCC and GLIBC. Any relevant and related issues tracking those efforts can be linked to this issue.
