GCC 4.8.2 was released on 2013/10/16 and is the latest revision on 4.8 series.

The bugs fixed in this version are shown in:

      http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/buglist.cgi?bug_status=RESOLVED&resolution=FIXED&target_milestone=4.8.2

This bug is a placeholder for my work on the new gcc-4.8.2.ebuild which among the fixes provided by upstream it needs to address other issues:

      • PIE patches version bump to 0.5.8
      • GMP version bump to 5.1.2 (last stable)
      • Determine if fortran still fails looking for gfortran path (drobbins hack #1).

The following patch(es) are being removed per this ebuild:

      • gcc-4.8.2-fix-cache-detection.patch (merged upstream)

There are also plans for add/fix things with ADA support when "ada" USE flag is enabled. Currently the "ada" use flag as per gcc-4.8.1-r3 does not work as it doesn't have virtual/gnat as a dependency. Adding such dependency pulls gcc-gnat-4.4.7 which is from GCC 4.4 series from 2011, so we need to decide if we also fork gcc-gnat to new versions (4.8 series), remove the ADA language support or continue supporting ADA with the current old gcc-gnat 4.4.x version if it builds (currently it doesnt).

Please note this version is NOT on portage yet and, when it arrives to portage, it will be hardmasked until extensively tested.
