      Before initramfs loads, /usr/share/genkernel/defaults/linuxrc runs and there is a typo. Replace linuxrc: if [ "${USE_AUFS_NORMAL}" -eq '1' ] With linuxrc: if [ "${USE_AUFS_NORMAL}" = '1' ] There are two instances.
