After a recent update to the underlying gnome/gtk3 libraries, I have observed thunar as becoming more unusable due to behaviour/operation changes.

First noticed was a change to the context menu when right-click in a folder with the aim to add a new document. What is observed is shown in attached image. Web searches found that this problem has been noticed by others (here, here, and here). General consensus in search results is to downgrade until code changes are instituted.

Other problem I just recently notice is that the search filtering when entering a path is rather 'hit/miss' whether the available path options are reduced with each user key entered. Situation is similar to this bug report.
