For both, building with genkernel the HW Clock drivers don't get included. OpenRC complains during init process that it is unable to sync with hw clock and system time is now off.
EDIT:
The revised issue, as it appears, is that RTC no longer gets turned on with default genkernel config. The RTC config options in the genkernel template no longer apply to the current kernel codebase. The question now is do we fix the default config, or advise users to enable if using genkernel?
