I did a fresh install of Funtoo Linux with the specified Environment you see up there:
It's a standard Funtoo Linux install with the latest prebuilt debian-sources kernel (4.8.7).
I copied over stage3, synced the portage tree, updated the system and setup the bootloader,
changed the desktop flavor, emerged and synced, installed xorg, installed gnome, firefox-bin, and emerged chromium. As I said, a pretty standard build.
I built the system yesterday and emerging chromium finished today morning.
So I tried updating my system again with the commands:
- emerge --sync
- emerge -uDN --with-bdeps=y @world
The package sys-process/glances-2.7 failed to build:
!!! Couldn't download 'Glances-2.7.tar.gz'. Aborting.
For some reason portage doesn't download the package. However, Manually opening the URL works on some of the mirrors, specifically:
http://distfiles.gentoo.org/distfiles/Glances-2.7.tar.gz -> works
I'm unsure on how to proceed, as I'm only a beginner to Funtoo usage, and I'd welcome some insight on how portage handles unavailable mirrors: it attempts to download the glances-2.7 package from three different mirrors, but none of them work.
If I find a solution myself I'll post it ASAP.
