Frequently, the glibc build will fail for hardened. It will fail in this exact spot:

Stop. make[4]: Leaving directory '/var/tmp/portage/sys-libs/glibc-2.19/work/glibc-2.19/csu' ../o-iterator.mk:9: recipe for target '/var/tmp/portage/sys-libs/glibc-2.19/work/build-x86-x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-nptl/csu/rtld-check_fds$ make[3]: *** [/var/tmp/portage/sys-libs/glibc-2.19/work/build-x86-x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-nptl/csu/rtld-check_fds.os] Error 2 make[3]: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs....
While the error appears to be due to a memory allocation issue, it does not appear to be caused by a low memory condition. Often, repeating the build will allow the build to continue.
