As per the description, it would be good to update meson. It was locked down due to issues with versions beyond 0.59 actually erroring out when getting invalid command-line arguments, whereas before you just got a cosmetic warning.

This actually caused quite a few ebuilds to fail, due to the fact that a surprising number are providing not-quite-correct meson options.

However, this was supposed to be a temporary workaround until the ebuilds themselves could be updated and fixed. The ideal place to do this is harvester. Therefore, I'm suggesting we restart this process in harvester, along with a full build of our stages, to identify all key affected ebuilds so they can be fixed. This will catch all critical things prior to any meson update hitting the production tree.
