The name of the created directory is not in the form portage expects. Possibly the archive has changed and now is creating a directory with a different name. (kudo's @adbosco)

As the summary states, "emerging x11-apps/intel-gpu-tools" fails with "The source directory '/var/tmp/portage/x11-apps/intel-gpu-tools-1.25/work/intel-gpu-tools-1.25' doesn't exist" error:
