This is an issue of strategic importance for Funtoo -- curating ebuilds -- so it is important for this reason. But not doing it isn't impacting any users at all.
I believe games-kit is a prime candidate for a "beard trim", or in other words, a pruning. It contains "games" in theory but this category is very broad and includes such things as a large collection of "fortune-mod" packages (which print out quotes when the user logs in, typically), "lolcat" (which is an output colorizer and not technically a game), and "cowsay" (which converts a quote from fortune into something spoken by a cow.)
Yes, somewhat silly, not essential, but the name of the kit and categories is "games", and not "non-essential".
I think it makes sense to further sub-categorize the contents of games-kit, which currently contains over 1000 ebuilds, into true curated collections of things. For example, there can be "commandline-funtools" (like cowsay, lolcat, and fortune-stuff.) There can be something for funtoo-maintained games. Other groups can be maintained by others, or removed for now.
