I believe that our toolchain is getting out of date. Debian 7 ships with GCC 4.7.2 and we are still in the 6 series. We are suppose to be a pretty cutting edge, source based distro and I believe that we should almost always be using the latest compiling tools. I understand that tools need to be tested, but as I mentioned before, we are a cutting edge source based distro.
