When I want to try out neovim, and try to merge it using the gnome mix-in (and presumably others), I get the following output from emerge:
The following USE changes are necessary to proceed: (see "package.use" in the portage(5) man page for more details) # required by app-editors/neovim-0.5.1::editors-kit # required by neovim (argument) >=dev-lua/lpeg-1.0.2 luajit # required by app-editors/neovim-0.5.1::editors-kit # required by neovim (argument) >=dev-lua/luv-1.42.0.1 luajit # required by app-editors/neovim-0.5.1::editors-kit # required by neovim (argument) >=dev-lua/mpack-1.0.4 luajit
Since we want packages to be easy to use without requiring any custom USE settings, is there any harm in enabling luajit in these packages? Any harm in enabling luajit globally?
