The guide to install funtoo onto an encrypted LVM has as one of the final steps to generate a genkernel. I found this confusing as it is unclear to me how this interacts with the recommended use of debian-sources (this genkernel step to me seems unneeded?)
If this guide gets updated it would be good to also:
- give an example boot.conf for debian-sources seeing that this is the recommended install for new users.
- make clearer that when using UEFI the /dev/sda3 in examples should be /dev/sda2; for new users splitting this guide for MBR / UEFI might be less confusing.
- for me the install-guide itself made sure that lvm2, grub and kernel-sources got installed. So the text under "basic system setup" that recommends to install these packages could make clearer that this only applies when not using debian-sources?
disclaimer) I have not been using gentoo based systems for a long time, so I might be misunderstanding how exactly genkernel is supposed to work here.
