etc hosts is getting over written, aliases are out of place requiring a "localuser" before having custom host entries with ip addresses....
"localuser
192.168.1.1 test
192.168.1.2 tube" results in duplicate entries in /etc/hosts.
anyways i added a variable for additional hosts... adding hosts entries in the aliases was placing aliases over the loopback statements which is known to me to cause problems.
i fixed the script to remove /etc/hosts upon stopping to prevent duplicate entries stacking up.
i just realized i dont have the latest openrc on either computer, ill update that and retest.
the patches allow users to append ip4 and ip6 host entries to their hostname file in conf.d....
i realized this is not as important of an issue as i thought it was... one can simply use the aliases for localhost, and echo "ipaddress alias" for other aliases, like 192.168.1.5 bob... ping bob pinging 192.168.1.5
