Currently, latest ipython version in Funtoo (via progress-overlay) is 1.2.1-r1000.

Version 2 adds many new features such as interactive python objects manipulation via widgets in the notebook.
Version 3 supports languages other than Python, has a new notebook UI, improved the interactive widgets, etc.
