Blocks app-emulation/wine.
It has been a long-standing problem that what holds back the adoption of Wine on Funtoo without reliance on third-party tools is the no-32-bit-requirement policy, which is understandable.
That is, until 7.0 came along, starting to remove Wine's reliance on 32-bit libraries altogether. Now 8.0 is out as stable, with most groundwork for complete removal of need for 32-bit libraries done. With it, I can safely tell that now is the time to switch from barely-working flatpak packages to direct ebuilds, maybe even with autogen.
As I'm writing this, I am manually building wine 8.0 with `--enable-archs=x86_64` and shared WoW64 as a sort of PoC, an it seems the only missing piece for mainline functionality is MinGW, which does not build right now.
P.S. Yes it's a Futurama reference, we really shouldn't rely on Flatpak for everything.
