I have some systems (FS RX200) with

Matrox Electronics Systems Ltd. MGA G200e [Pilot] ServerEngines (SEP1) [102b:0522] (rev 02)

video adapters.

This video adapter doesn't actual work with the experimental mgag200 driver, therefore I don't have KMS support.

Using gfxmode=1024x768 will end with a black screen.

So the only way to set my wanted resolution (1024x768) is to use the good old vga=761 parameter, but because boot-update will set gfxpayload=keep, this doesn't work.

I have to manually modify the generated /boot/grub/grub.cfg entry to get a console in my wanted resolution.
